GTA home services
One licensed team for heating, cooling, chimney and exterior work in Toronto & the GTA
Diamond Home Services is a 15-year-old GTA contractor covering furnace repair and installation, air conditioning repair, heat pump installation, boiler and water heater service, chimney sweeping and repair, gas fireplace service, duct and dryer vent cleaning, gutter work and pool heater repair. One company, one record of your home, one number to call when something stops working.
Most homeowners here end up with three or four separate contractors: an HVAC company for the furnace, a sweep for the chimney, someone else for the ducts, and a handyman for the gutters. Because our technicians hold gas, HVAC and WETT credentials together, we can solve problems that sit on the boundary — a fireplace that smells because the chimney is unlined, a furnace short-cycling because a duct run is choked, a high-efficiency vent terminating too close to grade.
We work across Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville and Burlington, and we know the housing stock in each. Pre-war Toronto masonry, 1990s Mississauga mid-efficiency systems, new Vaughan builds with tight mechanical rooms and lakeside Oakville homes taking wind-driven rain each fail in their own predictable way.
Every job follows the same protocol: electrical readings, gas pressure measured against the manufacturer spec, draft and venting verification, and a safety-control check — before a single part is quoted. That is the difference between a repair that holds and a parts-swap that brings you back in six weeks.

Seasonal demand
What breaks, and when, in an Ontario home
Booking the right work in the right month is the cheapest maintenance decision you can make.
Winter: heating season
Between November and March we run on no-heat priority. Furnace and boiler failures, frozen condensate lines, cracked heat exchangers and ice-blocked high-efficiency vent terminations are the calls we see most. Book your furnace tune-up in September or October to avoid the queue.
Summer: cooling and exterior
From May the load shifts to air conditioning repair, heat pump installation, pool heater startups, gutter cleaning and duct cleaning. Summer is also the cheapest, fastest window for chimney repair and relining, since the mortar cures properly and you are not competing with the first cold snap.
Why Diamond
Diagnosis first. Parts second.
The fastest way to overpay for HVAC work is to have someone swap parts until the symptom goes away. We test to a cause before we quote.
Every call starts with the same protocol: electrical readings, gas pressure against the manufacturer spec, draft and venting verification, and a safety-control check. That protocol catches the problems a symptom-led repair misses — a cracked heat exchanger behind a "noisy furnace" complaint, an unlined flue behind a "fireplace smells" complaint.
15+ years working on Toronto & the GTA housing stock means we know what fails on what. Pre-war Toronto masonry, 1990s Mississauga mid-efficiency systems and new Vaughan builds each have their own predictable failure patterns, and our technicians arrive expecting them.

FAQ
Furnace, AC, chimney and duct questions we get every week
Straight answers on cost, timing, licensing and what to do when something fails at 2am.
Do you offer same-day furnace and AC repair across the GTA?
Yes. No-heat, no-cool and gas-smell calls are prioritised ahead of routine maintenance, and we hold same-day emergency HVAC slots open across Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville and Burlington every working day.
How much does a furnace repair cost in Toronto?
Most GTA furnace repairs land between $180 and $650 depending on the failed component — igniters and flame sensors sit at the low end, inducer motors, control boards and gas valves at the high end. You get a written, itemised price before any work starts, and the diagnostic fee is credited against the repair if you approve it.
How much does air conditioning repair cost?
AC repairs typically run $200 to $700 in the GTA. Capacitors and contactors are inexpensive same-visit fixes; refrigerant leak repair, TXV replacement and compressor work cost more. We always quote the repair against the cost of replacement so you can make the call with real numbers.
How often should a chimney be swept and inspected?
Annually for any wood-burning fireplace or wood stove used through the season, and at minimum every two years for gas appliances vented through a masonry chimney. WETT and CSIA guidance is one inspection per year — creosote build-up and liner deterioration are invisible from inside the house.
How often should air ducts and dryer vents be cleaned?
Duct cleaning every 3 to 5 years for a typical GTA home, sooner after a renovation or if anyone in the house has allergies. Dryer vents should be cleaned every year — lint blockage is one of the leading causes of residential dryer fires and it also doubles your drying times.
How long does a furnace last, and when should I replace instead of repair?
A well-maintained furnace lasts 15 to 20 years in Ontario. Our rule of thumb: if the unit is past 15 years and the repair costs more than a third of a replacement, replacement is usually the better spend. We show you both numbers rather than pushing the install.
Are your technicians licensed, insured and TSSA registered?
Every technician is a licensed gas technician (G2 or G1), TSSA registered, and covered by $2M liability insurance. Chimney and fireplace work is performed by WETT-certified staff, and every tech is background-checked before they enter a customer's home.
Which HVAC brands do you service?
We service all major brands including Lennox, Carrier, Trane, Rheem, Goodman, York, Amana, Bryant, Daikin, Napoleon, Valor and Regency fireplaces, plus Hayward, Raypak and Jandy pool heaters — regardless of who installed the unit.
Do you offer emergency service at night and on weekends?
Yes. We run emergency dispatch outside standard hours for no heat in winter, carbon monoxide alarms, gas odours and water leaking from a heating appliance. Call the line and you speak to a dispatcher, not an answering service.
Do you provide free estimates on furnace and AC installation?
Installation and replacement quotes are free and include a proper load assessment — sizing, ductwork condition and venting — not just a model number and a price. Diagnostic repair visits carry a quoted service fee that is credited toward approved work.
Are there rebates available for a high-efficiency furnace or heat pump in Ontario?
Ontario homeowners can often access utility and federal efficiency incentives when upgrading to a high-efficiency furnace or a cold-climate heat pump. We tell you which programs your chosen equipment qualifies for and provide the paperwork the program requires.
Do you provide a written safety report after the visit?
Yes. Every visit ends with a written summary of the readings we recorded — gas pressure, temperature rise, draft, amp draw — what we changed, and anything to monitor before next season.
