Duct Cleaning in Toronto & the GTA

Duct systems collect construction dust, drywall compound, pet dander, insulation fibre and — in older GTA homes — decades of fine soot from when the same chimney served an oil appliance. None of that leaves on its own. It sits in the horizontal trunk lines and gets re-entrained every time the blower starts.

A proper clean means putting the entire system under negative pressure at the furnace, then agitating each branch mechanically so the debris travels to the collection unit instead of into your living room. We clean supplies, returns, the return plenum, the blower compartment and the evaporator coil face, then fit a fresh filter and record the static pressure so you can see airflow improved rather than take our word for it.

The difference between a real duct cleaning and a vacuum at the register is measurable. We put the system under negative pressure at the trunk, agitate each branch mechanically so debris travels toward the collection point rather than into the room, and clean the return side and blower wheel — which is where the heaviest accumulation almost always is. A blower wheel with loaded fins moves substantially less air than a clean one, and no amount of register-level vacuuming touches it.

We record static pressure before and after so the result is a number rather than a claim. If your system was not meaningfully restricted, the reading will barely change and we will tell you that plainly. Duct cleaning is worth doing on the right schedule and after the right events — a renovation, a move, a rodent problem, visible debris — and it is not an annual necessity on a clean, well-filtered system.
